"Now!" Alec commanded, his voice filled with determination, as he moved forward, determined to plow through the ranks of hyenas and reach the Quasi Tier 4 Hyena Matriarch.

But as soon as he made his move, Alec noticed the Matriarch also shifting, giggling and emitting strange noises.

Suddenly, ten enormous hyenas positioned themselves in front of him, blocking his path and preventing him from getting any closer to the hyena Matriarch.

With deliberate precision, Alec unsheathed his Bone katana, unleashing a wave of sword Qi towards the ten hyenas in his way.

Yet, before the Qi attack even reached its intended targets, the hyenas scattered away, laughing and giggling at Alec’s failed attempt to strike them.

Their sly eyes and mischievous behaviour only fuelled Alec’s anger.

He had anticipated the Matriarch to confront him head-on, as leaders beasts often do, seeking to eliminate any perceived threats.

But the Matriarch had fled the moment Alec had made his move.

"What type of shameless hyena is this?"

Alec questioned himself , a mix of frustration and confusion in his voice.

Just as he was starting to relax, one of the hyena darted towards him, prompting Alec to swiftly turn his Bone katana and strike with a backhand motion due to the way he held the katana.

However, the hyena quickly changed direction, evading Alec’s attack effortlessly, as it had no intension of moving closer to Alec in the first place.

Simultaneously, another Hyena approached from behind, attempting to sink its teeth into Alec’s rear.

But these hyenas had severely underestimated Alec, as not just anyone could breach the ten-meter radius around him so easily.

A surge of adrenaline flooded Alec’s mind, as he instinctively channelled his sword Qi towards the hyena that had feigned an attack, as he refused to withdraw or defend himself against the other Hyena that was close to biting his bottom.

Instead, he extended his left hand towards the hyena attempting to bite him, Casting both of his innate spell.

Alec directed his mana to form an earth bullet enshrouded in a blazing aura, transforming it into a molten projectile.

"Release!"

Alec pronounced, his voice calm, and a thunderous bang reverberated through the air as the combined power of his innate spells propelled the bullet at an even greater speed than before.

The bullet pierced through the hyena’s head with lethal precision, instantly claiming the group’s first kill.

After killing one of the hyenas that had assaulted him and using his sword Qi to force the other Hyena to flee, Alec decided to retreat and regroup with his group.

He couldn’t understand why they hadn’t joined him, but he suspected that they might be held up.

The hyenas’ cunning attitude and sinister mode of attack made him realize that he couldn’t handle them alone, much like other unintelligent beasts in the low-rank realms.

As Alec turned back, he quickly understood why he wasn’t receiving any backup.

The Matriarch had strategically positioned herself behind the ten hyenas, using them as a shield while she swooped in to finish off the slightly stronger members of Alec’s gang.

The Matriarch wasn’t interested in engaging in a one-on-one fight with Alec or adhering to any notions of fairness.

While Alec may have aimed for the head, the Matriarch had already released Pale’s left leg, causing the bullet to hit her jaws instead.

Blood flowed from the Matriarch’s mouth, transforming her laughing face into a frown.

However, she remained unwavering in her determination to eliminate Pale as she lunged towards him, intent on severing his legs once and for all.

"Just focus on me!" Alec shouted, attempting to come to Pale’s rescue.

But he found himself surrounded by another set of hyenas, forcing him into yet another prolonged battle that would not free him anytime soon.

While Alec was occupied, Arthur and Brandon found themselves with a momentary freedom.

"Get ready!" Arthur called out as he grasped two of the Hive Queen babies.

With all his strength, he hurled them towards the Matriarch Hyena In a bid to stop her.

"Defend your whole body!"

Brandon, charging towards them, shouted at Pale.

Pale swiftly reacted, encasing himself in a complete ice coffin, modifying the spell in the process.

The Matriarch paid little attention to the spiders, only swiping her paws towards their location, and a claw light soared towards the spiders, resulting in a small explosion upon contact, flinging the ice coffin away and covering the area around the Matriarch Hyena.

Brandon, in an attempt to amplify the damage, unleashed a crimson slash towards the explosion.

Brandon contorted his body, while wielding the Saber of Slaughter to release a series of crimson slashes.

As the slashes gained momentum, they transformed into a blood-red sword Qi tornado that surged towards the site of the explosion.

After landing back on the ground, Brandon reflected on the blade style his father had created for him.

It required mana, albeit in small quantities, as it was converted to Ki, offering heightened destructive capabilities.

This was the reason why he rarely employed it, as he didn’t wish to harm any of his clansmen, as he was not still used to controlling Ki as effectively like he controlled Mana.

Unbeknownst to Brandon, he was employing a Ki technique unprecedented in the northern kingdom.

However, in this moment, it proved to be his best strategy to conserve mana, endure longer in battle, and minimize potential damage.

With a multitude of hyenas present, his attacks would strike them before reaching his fellow clan members.

"Fucking get your attacks under control!" Alec yelled in frustration.

As one of the Crimson Blade Qi approached his location, it sliced through one of the hyenas restraining him, before continue heading towards him.

Alec quickly raised his Blood Changdao from it’s sheathe as the Bone Katana was still busy blocking another hyena’s teeth,

So he used the Blood Changdao to deflecting the Crimson Blade Qi towards another hyena, killing it in the process, before the Crimson Blade Qi dissipated.
