Chapter 86 All-Out Offensive
Chapter 86 All-Out Offensive
At the same time, on the front of the bunker.
As soon as the hammer connected a PKM bullet, smoke rose outside.
"There's smoke ahead!" he growled.
The female officer peered out from behind the firing port, then quickly withdrew: "It's not a single shot, it's two lines of smoke. There's smoke from the left front, directly in front, and to the right front. The Humvees are back!"
"Didn't that car drive away?" Hammer cursed.
"They're back," the female officer said coldly. "And the machine gun and Mk19 are still there."
Outside, the deep rumble of engines pressed in through the smoke.
The Hummer didn't rush too fast, but instead stopped and started, using the smoke screen as cover to slowly approach the front of the bunker.
The ten infantrymen behind them did not charge in a swarm, but were divided into two groups, one in front and one behind.
The four men in the front group crawled forward using the smoke and terrain, while the six men in the back group positioned themselves on either flank to provide cover.
The next second, the Mk19 opened fire.
"Thump! Thump! Thump!"
Three grenades struck the front of the bunker and near the firing port, the explosions shaking the entire concrete wall.
The hammer's eardrums were ringing from the impact. Just as he was about to look up, a burst of machine gun bullets struck the outer edge of the firing port, sending sparks flying.
"I can't lift my head!" he cursed.
The female officer gritted her teeth, put the PKM back in its port position, leaving only the very short barrel exposed, and fired a long burst at a suspected firing point in the smoke.
"If we can't hold them back, we'll just wait for them to fall into the trap zone!" she shouted.
"They're almost there!" Iron Eagle replied via the drone's feed.
Outside, through the smoke, figures began to vaguely appear.
The first to rush in were two assault soldiers who kept their bodies low to the ground.
As the Hummer rounded the bend, its front wheels rolled over the curb, causing the vehicle to lurch.
The next second, the Zarya-2 missile hidden in the roadside bushes was detonated by a tripwire.
"Buzz!"
A piercing flash of light suddenly exploded in the night.
The two infantrymen at the front instantly lost their rhythm; one covered his face and crouched down, while the other instinctively lunged toward the roadside.
The Hummer driver was also momentarily blinded by the bright lights and jerked the steering wheel sharply to the left.
But that's not all.
Two RGO fragmentation mines on the left slope detonated almost in quick succession.
"Boom! Boom!"
One front-line infantryman was thrown to the ground on the spot, and another fell backward, his leg bruised, and he rolled into the ditch screaming.
The Hummer's left front wheel and fender were also pierced by shrapnel, and the vehicle visibly sank.
At the same time, the RGD-5 missile hanging on a tree branch near the bend of the bunker was also pulled away by the tripwire.
"boom!"
The location of this explosion was even more treacherous.
It landed right in front of the Hummer on the right side, between three enemy soldiers who were using the vehicle to advance.
The machine gunner on the right side of the vehicle was thrown off the vehicle by the blast and shrapnel; his helmet flew a long way and he fell silent upon landing.
The Mk19 operator was struck in the shoulder, neck, and face by shrapnel, falling backward with his hand still stuck in the launcher and his mouth full of blood.
The driver fared even worse; after the bright light, the explosion, and the tire damage all occurred simultaneously, he was completely unable to control the car.
The Hummer crashed violently into the roadside embankment and tree stumps, its front end tilted, the front axle jammed, and it broke down on the spot.
"Alright!" Hammer roared.
"Don't be too happy yet!" Iron Eagle replied immediately, "The vehicle still has firepower!"
He continued to report the enemy situation: "The Humvee is immobilized, but the weapons are still intact. The driver is seriously wounded, the original machine gunner is dead, and the Mk19 operator is seriously wounded. Three infantrymen in the rear have broken cover and are climbing back onto the vehicle!"
"They're going to take over the fire support positions!" the female officer immediately realized.
"Yes," Iron Eagle replied. "One went to the left machine gun position, one climbed into the Mk19, and one crawled into the driver's seat. They moved very quickly."
Hammer gritted his teeth: "I can't see!"
The female officer said coldly, "Then let's wait for them to show themselves!"
"Thump!"
The new grenade launcher fired a grenade.
This time the aim was much worse, landing a few meters in front of the bunker, but the explosion still sent dust flying around the firing port.
-----------------
From the back door direction, Grey Wolf and Detonator have already arrived to provide support.
"Situation!" Gray Wolf growled.
Vasily didn't turn his head: "Two are down, at least six more. There's a light machine gun, and they're pressing from both flanks. They're trying to cut in through the back door."
Lynx added, "Someone on the right has already reached within fifteen meters."
"Detonator, left. Lynx is in your group," Gray Wolf ordered. "Vasily, follow me to the right. Clear out the closest ones first."
"receive!"
No sooner had they finished dividing the loot than a grenade rolled out of the smoke.
"Grenade!" Detonator roared, kicking it outwards.
The grenade flew back into the air and landed in the smoke.
"boom!"
A muffled groan suddenly came from inside.
Seizing the moment, Gray Wolf suddenly stood up and fired short bursts directly into the source of machine gun fire in the smoke.
I didn't win in the first round.
In the second round, the continuous suppressive fire from the smoke was immediately cut off.
Vasily simultaneously emerged from the other side, striking two enemy soldiers who had just charged out from the right side, knocking them down onto the slope with two short blows.
"Press harder!" Gray Wolf shouted.
The lynx and the detonator fired their guns simultaneously, one on the left and one on the right.
The detonator wasn't greedy, firing only three shots at a time, specifically targeting the entry and exit points at the edge of the smoke screen. The Lynx, on the other hand, kept a close eye on the right-side trench line, pushing back any movement of the shadowy figure.
The enemy wanted to keep pressing forward.
One man rushed forward under the cover of smoke, and just as he was about to press himself against the wall behind the back door, Vasily turned and fired. The bullet struck him from below, hitting him in the chest, and the man fell to the ground.
"The fifth one!" Vasily shouted.
Three enemy soldiers remained behind, maintaining a basic formation. Two were slightly wounded, and one was clearly shot in the leg and was being dragged back by his comrades.
The gray wolf immediately ordered, "Don't pursue too far! Attack their retreating tails!"
Detonator raised his hand and threw a grenade.
"boom!"
Vasily followed up with a shot, knocking down an enemy soldier who was still struggling.
The lynx peeked out and said, "Let's retreat!"
"The back door is temporarily secured." Gray Wolf immediately asked, "Sir, what's the situation at the front?"
The female officer's response was filled with the sounds of gunfire and explosions.
"The Humvee is broken down, but its firepower is still intact! Three men are taking over the weapons positions again! Two or three infantrymen in the front row are wounded, but the men behind haven't stopped and are continuing to push forward!"
Iron Eagle continued reporting the footage: "Confirmed. A new grenade launcher has climbed onto the Mk19, one is at the left machine gun position, and a third has crawled into the driver's seat to try to start it. But the front of the vehicle is stuck and cannot be moved out for the time being."
Iron Hammer gritted his teeth and cursed, "Then let's hit them first!"
The female officer replied coldly, "The problem is that as soon as our machine guns opened fire, grenades came flying right at us."
Gray Wolf said, "Leave the back door to Lynx and Vasily. Detonator, come back to the front with me!"
"receive!"
Meanwhile, Lu Ye was still lying in that gravel ditch, the buzzing of the drone overhead still lingering.
Unable to look at the front lines any longer, he could only ask in a low voice, "How's the situation at the bunker?"
Grey Wolf quickly replied, "The back door has been pushed back. The front is the most troublesome; the Humvees are out of commission, and the enemy is taking over the firepower to continue the pressure. Don't worry about us for now; get rid of the drones overhead first."
Iron Eagle suddenly added, "Lu, those two observation aircraft above you are still circling. They didn't leave after losing your line of sight, which means the enemy is still waiting for you to reappear. And there's also a bombardier!"
Lu Ye narrowed his eyes and slowly pressed his body against the ditch wall.
The female officer's voice rang out on the channel: "Attention, everyone."
"The enemy forces on the front are still advancing."
"They haven't finished fighting yet."
